post en Español (pero no igual)

I was writing a script to backup subtitles from dotsub.com and I realized that the task of seeking in webs is repetitive and non standard. Moreover, I had thought several times that I would like to execute scripts from the web. As I am using/learning Ruby (and I’m not going to use Rails for that), I googled and found Camping. It’s a microframework and it’s very easy to use even for me ;)

I tried the Camping microframework writing the little app Seekr (less than 40 lines with comments) to rewrite searches. It presents a standard way to seek so it’s going to simplify my life a bit. For example, when I want to look for a word in the Spanish dictionary of the RAE (Real Academia Española), I had to go to the rae.es and then seek my word. Now I only need to go to seekr.es/rae/perro. And the same to the Wikipedia, Technorati, Google Maps, Mininova for ordered by seed torrents, Lastfm for similiar artists and so on.

You also could specify the language:

seek OpenID in Google:

• Default (English): seekr.es/google/OpenID (or even seekr.es/g/OpenID)
• Spanish: seekr.es/google/es/OpenID
• Any: seekr.es/google/any/OpenID

seek OpenID in Wikipedia:

• Default (English): seekr.es/wikipedia/OpenID (or even seekr.es/w/OpenID)
• Spanish: seekr.es/wikipedia/es/OpenID
• Any: seekr.es/wikipedia/any/OpenID

seek OpenID in Technorati:

• Default (English): seekr.es/technorati/OpenID
• Spanish: seekr.es/technorati/es/OpenID
• Any: seekr.es/technorati/any/OpenID

seek Valencia, Spain in Google Maps:

• Default (English): seekr.es/maps/Valencia,Spain
• Spanish: seekr.es/es/maps/Valencia,Spain

or many other possibilities such as seeking how to go from Barcelona to Madrid in Google Maps:
